reclaim charges
½«gumwrapper asked:

Is it they feel the cost of others time and effort to return their lost pet to them should an onus on the general public?
Would those opposing licenses prefer all stray animals upon being captured be euthanized immediately? Are these owners who oppose licensing afraid their animal when loose will injure or cause to injure another, thus becoming an expensive liability issue if they as owners are located?

Why do people gloat that their pet is a loved family member
but deny any need to protect it’s life with life saving measures such as a license to trace their home when lost and reunite?

If licensing is not going to be accepted as mandatory, may I suggest that all SPCA begin charging the full cost of recovery when a lost pet (family baby) is found and reclaimed by the owner, which may be as little as $100? Or maybe higher than $500. depending how long their pet gets pampered at the dog hotel.

Yes I asked a mouthful, but, why oh why, do people oppose cat/dog licensing?
When a dog has been captured by the SPCA loose in public, there is no distinction between a responsible owner and an irresponsible owner when it come to assessing the cost to return that dog to it’s owner. Both owners should bear the cost, either by subsidizing each other by licensing, or bearing the full recovery cost of their dog. No? Why Not?
