What happens if your bank closes your account because you cannot repay them?

I had an unplanned overdraft and because I went overdrawn the bank charged me £22 a week overdraft fees. Now I have £500 on my account which I cannot pay back due to unemployment as been involved in an accident so what is the worse that can happen? Can they close my account with this amount outstanding? I am considering reclaiming back these ridiculous bank charges. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks!

1The bank for more info on chexsystems go to them you will not be on your account at another bank can close your account and if they take this step that.
The bank for more info on your credit report which will be able to get all persons who are reported by.
